肝心なジョン・ダンの詩の引用を忘れていた。

以下の詩は著者の執行草舟氏の抜粋である。

そして懐疑が、新しき哲学によってあまねく行きわたり、
その故に、火と呼ばれし根元智はこの世を去りぬ。
我らがうちより太陽も大地も消え去り、如何なる英智をしても、
誰もそれらを何処に見出すべきか解りはせぬ。
心ある人は誰もがこの世の週末を告げている。
惑星しかり、恒星しかり、かつて知られざりしものが、
新たに見出されるが故に。心ある人は、この世が再び
無秩序で無意味な素材に還元されしを感ぜり。
全ての善きものが灰燼と化し、全ての善き統一はこの世を去りぬ。
全ての人道的な助け合いも、全ての係わり合いもこの世を去りぬ。
主従の絆も、親子の絆もこの世を去りぬ。
秩序と絆を喪いし者は、己のみを不死鳥のごときものと
錯覚せり。かく故に心なき者は己のみを感じ、
誰にも、また何も共感せず、かつそれを誇るに至れり。
